Rieko Fujitaka
Musician, Biwa Player.
As a biwa performer, she is dedicated to both the traditional art of classical vocal narratives and contemporary Japanese music, while also creating original compositions. Her diverse activities include solo performances, school concerts, and ensemble collaborations with other instruments. She also engages with theatrical and interdisciplinary collaborations a wide variety of genres, such as calligraphy, ikebana, dance, and improvisational performances. As a member of the Japanese Music Ensemble "Pro Musica Nipponia" she has participated in numerous concerts. Her accolades include the Japan Society for Contemporary Music Award at the 5th Tokyo Hogaku Competition and the Excellence Award at the 15th National Kumamoto Hogaku Competition. She also passed the NHK Hogaku Audition. She performed the biwa in German, China, Russia, Mongolia, and Canada. She participated in international music festival "Sharq Taronalari" held in Uzbekistan as a Jury.
